The Informal Ad hoc Expert Group on Conceptual and Technical Aspects of Computerization of the TIR Procedure (GE.1) held its twenty first session on 25 and 26 September 2012 in Bratislava, at the kind invitation of the Slovak Customs administration. On behalf of the Financial Directorate of the Slovak Republic, Mr. Robert Nosian, Director Customs Section, delivered an introductory statement. With reference to the ninth session of GE.1, which took place in 2006, he welcomed participants once more to Bratislava. Pointing at the challenging issues on the agenda, he reconfirmed the importance attached by the Slovak Customs administration to the activities of GE.1, as well as expressing the general support by the Slovak authorities of the activities undertaken in the framework of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the eTIR Project in particular. The session was attended by experts from Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Turkey. Experts representing the European Commission (EC) and the International Road Transport Union (IRU) also attended the session. | |

The Informal Ad hoc Expert Group on Conceptual and Technical Aspects of Computerization of the TIR Procedure (further referred to as “the Expert Group”) held its twentieth session on 19 and 20 April 2012 in Prague, at the kind invitation of the Czech Customs administration. In her opening statement Mrs. Vendulka Hola, Deputy Director General of Customs, confirmed the ongoing support of the Czech Customs authorities for the activities of UNECE in general and the eTIR Project in particular. The session was attended by experts from Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Turkey. Experts representing the European Commission (EC) and the International Road Transport Union (IRU) also attended the session. |

| The Informal Ad hoc Expert Group on Conceptual and Technical Aspects of Computerization of the TIR Procedure (GE.1) held its nineteenth session on 13 and 14 September 2011 in Belgrade at the kind invitation of the Serbian Customs administration. In his opening speech, the Director General of the Serbian Customs Administration, Mr. Predrag Petronijević, highlighted the importance of the computerization of the TIR procedure to further secure and expedite international transport. The session was attended by experts from Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Turkey as well as from the European Union (EU). Experts representing the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)/World Chambers Federation (WCF) and from the International Road Transport Union (IRU) also attended the session. |

WP.30/GE.1 18th session
The Informal Ad hoc Expert Group on Conceptual and Technical Aspects of Computerization of the TIR Procedure (further referred to as “the Expert Group”) held its eighteenth session on 9 and 10 March 2011 in Geneva. The session was attended by experts from Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Sweden, Turkey as well as from the European Union (EU). Experts from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the International Road Transport Union (IRU) also attended the session.

The Network of eTIR focal points and eTIR website (16 April 2010)
At its forty-second session, the TIRExB invited the secretariat to explore options how to organize the activities of the GE.1 at long distance by means of email exchange, which would mean that also representatives from Contracting Parties who were not able to attend the GE.1 sessions could participate in its work.
Consequently, the secretariat proposed the creation of a network of focal points for eTIR. At its 124th session, the Working Party supported the proposal to create a network of focal points for eTIR, which should also include representatives from Contracting Parties who are not able to attend the GE.1 sessions.
In order to further promote the eTIR project and to broaden the access to eTIR news, events and documentation, the secretariat also devised the present website.

WP.30/GE.1 17th session
The Informal Ad hoc Expert Group on Conceptual and Technical Aspects of Computerization of the TIR Procedure (GE.1) held its seventeenth session on 8–9 March 2010 in Helsinki at the kind invitation of the Finnish National Board of Customs. The session was attended by experts from Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Sweden, Turkey and Ukraine as well as from the European Union (EU). An expert from the International Road Transport Union (IRU) also attended the session.
